secondary research is about finding information that has already been collected and is a much quicker way of finding out information. It involves a summary or collection of  research other than primary research which is a type of research that takes time to collect.Secondary research can be found in books, the internet , magazines and newspapers.
Research companies such as the Broadcast Audience Research Board (BARB) collect information relating to television viewing figures.They sell this data o television broadcasters such as ITV,BBC and others,This means (BARB) are a primary research company.
  • It is a lot more faster than primary research.
  • Secondary research is always there on the internet or in a library.
  • It is a lot cheaper than primary research.
The disadvantages of  secondary research are:
  • The information you are getting may not be up to date.
  • The information may not be true.
  • It is less reliable.
